2018’s Bridal Fashion Weeks offered some gorgeous bridal make up inspiration that can easily translate from runway to aisle while remaining classic and timeless, important to consider as you will be looking at your wedding pictures for a lifetime!
For Monica Lhullier’s collection, models were given just enough make up to look flawless, but still natural. The focus was on a dewy complexion and highlighted cheekbones. To achieve this fresh, vibrant face that looks as though it’s naturally flawless and youthful – take your layering game to new levels. Prepare your skin first by spritzing with a hydrating mist, skip the moisturiser (just for that day!) and straight to a beautiful illuminating primer. After your base, lightly layer cream highlighters and subtle cream contour followed by the powder versions. Super fine, well blended layers is key here for luminosity and longevity.
When applying a bright red or a bold lipstick, especially on your wedding day preparation is key. Exfoliate your lips thoroughly first with a good lip scrub, I love the range by Lush. Apply generously with a clean finger, and let the exfoliating caster sugar and softening jojoba oil scrub away dead skin and infuse moisture, they taste amazing. Then slather on a good balm to soak in while the rest of your make-up is being done.
Texture wise a semi-matte lipstick would be my wedding make-up choice to enhances a shade’s boldness while also feeling seamlessly comfortable on the lips.
Whatever wedding make-up style you choose – traditional and romantic, edgy and boho-chic or sultry and glamorous, make sure you feel like you – just the most beautiful polished version of yourself.
